Zarina Begum

Zarina Begum was the only child of Mubarak Shah Khan and Kaneez Fatima. Zarina Begum was born in 1913 in Bareilly and was three months old at time of her father's death. Zarina Khan was raised by her paternal grandfather Tulan Khan. Zarina Begum married Ejaz Nabi in Bareilly in 1927 when she was 14 years old. They lived in Agra and raised their family before migrating to Karachi, Pakistan in 1947. They had four sons and four daughters. Their two sons and two daughter died at young age. Saeeda Khatoon born in 1931 died when she was 7 years old. Iftikhar Ahmad Siddiqui born in 1936 died at age two years He was favorite of his parents and they remembered him till their death. Maqbul Khatoon died during birth as her head was damaged by doctor's instrument. Ansar Ahmad Siddiqui died when he was seven days old and it is suspected that a nurse poisoned him after a dispute with hospital and staff due to bad care of his mother. Fahmida Khatoon died after only forty days since she had enlarged head with water. Zarina Begum died on 15-July-1974 in Karachi after an heart attack.
